Lasers in Private Practices

Aesthetic, Chiropractic, Wellness & Lasers Clinics

Physicians and medical spa owners must comply with all applicable OSHA regulations.  OSHA requires the medical facility to be safe from recognized hazards by implementing a laser safety program and documenting standard operating procedures procedures.

American National Standards Institute

The American National Standards Institute oversees standards and conformity assessment activities in the United States which are recognized by OSHA and can become law through "Incorporation by Reference".  ANSI standards represent the National Consensus Standard for laser safety in medical spas, laser clinics, and healthcare facilities.

ANSI Z136.3 explicitly states that a designated MLSO is required with operation of a Class IIIB or class IV lasers in a healthcare setting.

How We Are Different!

Our laser safety course was written by an aesthetic and laser legal expert witness who reveals the inside components to tort law and malpractice litigation.

Compliancy is a REQUIREMENT not a choice

Is your laser clinic OSHA compliant?

Are you aware of OSHA regulations and ANSI Standards to which you are held accountable to?

Do your practitioners diligently follow standard of care practices?

Is your staff properly trained, certified, and legally protected when practicing lasers?

Has the physician or employer appointed a Medical Laser Safety Officer?

Do you have a laser safety plan in place?

Does Your Clinic Practice the Standard of Care?

The standard of care is a legal term that refers to the level of care that a reasonably competent and skilled health care professional provides to their client and establishes a benchmark for the quality of care and common practices expected among practitioners.

The standard of care is a crucial element within tort law and is used when determining liability in cases of breach of duty. Failure to provide a patient a standard of care increases legal liability for an injury or death.

Adhering to standard of care requirements and laser safety regulations provides a layer of legal protection, enhances patient safety, provides professionals a criterion of best practices, and offers protection against legal claims or allegations of malpractice.
